About
PACFA Registered Counsellor
Member #31089I'm a PACFA registered counsellor with a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology.
Before I came to this work, I lived a varied working life, different industries, different roles, different versions of what I thought I was supposed to be doing. Through all of it, people kept finding their way to me with the things that were troubling them. Those conversations felt more important than whatever else was happening. Eventually, I stopped ignoring what that meant.
How I work
I'm interested in what sits beneath the surface — the anger underneath silence, the grief underneath resentment, the desire underneath confusion. What brings people to therapy is often not quite what it first seems, and some of the most important work begins by staying close to that, rather than rushing toward explanation or solutions.
I won't push you faster than feels safe. I will notice things. I may name something just outside your awareness or help trace a feeling in the present back to something much older.
I'm not easily unsettled by complexity or darkness. Often that is exactly where the work needs to begin.
What I believe about change
I think people begin to shift when they find themselves in a space where they can be fully present with what is actually there, all of it, not just the manageable parts. Not performing. Not protecting. Just present.
The moments that stay with me are the ones where something a client has been carrying alone is finally spoken, felt, and understood with another person beside them. And something begins to move.
